Discover the magic of parisian Parks

HiP Paris Blog, Carin Olsson, Autumn in Paris

You must agree with me that there is something magical in parisian parks during the Fall. Entering the parks in autumn means diving in the sea of warm red, orange and yellow tones. For someone who loves photography it's the best opportunity (and place!) to take extraordinary photos with beautiful scenes. This Fall you can't miss a walk around the Parc des Buttes Chaumont, the Jardin des Tuileries, the Canal Saint Martin, and the Jardin du Luxembourg.

Even though we all love summer picnics on the grass with some friends and good bottle of wine you must admit that parisian parks in the autumn seduce us as much as in the summertime. It's a good idea to get a fresh air when it gets cold instead of sitting at home in front of the TV !

HiP Paris Blog, Carin Olsson, Autumn in ParisApart from a simple walk in one of these parks we can also find some attractions for kids or even adults. In some parks such as Jardin the Luxembourg, Moceau thre are placed the carousels and playgrounds for kids. Kids can even have a ride in a "Oui Oui" car ! Moreover it is possible to 'rent' a poney and have a ride as well !
In front of the most of the parks you will surely spot the chestnuts sellers who sell the famous "châtaignes". Enjoy it to taste the french winter speciality and warm yourself at the same time !

Paris in the Fall: What to do in Paris when winter comes along

HiP Paris Blog, Carin Olsson, Autumn in Paris

Autumn is one of my best seasons. I agree that it announces winter and brings cold weather but I really like it for its colourful leaves and hot chocolate that we are more likely to drink in some nice parisian cafes.I think if winter didn't exist autumn would be probably one of my favourite seasons of the year.

The colours of autumn change a simple walk into magical way. I love to have a walk in Jardin de Luxembourg or Monceau at lunchtime on Sunday. In autumn there is much less tourist, so the City of Lights become a litlle bit easier to handle and public transport is less crowded.

So I you think there is nothing to do in Autumn in Paris, check regularly my blog and I'm sure that you will change your mind quickly and book your flight to Paris!

Parisian Cafés

You must admit that there is no better way of spending cold nights than around a cup of coffee with friends. It's also a time when we can't deny some sweet crepes, eclaires or chocolat muffins. Although I advice you no to taste all of them at the same time..

I hardly recommend you the cafe Telescope (5 rue Villedo, 75001 Paris, France) which is one of my best coffee spots in Paris. The prices are reasonable and the taste of coffee is really extraordinary. Cafe creme (right above) is one of my favourites. Some others adresses to memmorize could be Un dimanche a Paris (8 Cour de Commerce Saint André 6th) If regards coffee shops there is one called Ten Belles (10 rue de la Grange aux Belles 75010 (10ème arrondissement) which is a must of coffee shops in Paris. They've got heavenly good homemade cakes.

Museum Visits
In Paris there are many museums which attract with its unique interior. I don't find any time to visit them during summer since when it's hot I prefer to spend my free time with friends outside by organizing picnics for instance. So museums are on my " to do" list and this time I won' find any excuse to miss them.

I highly recommend you the 2 most frequented museums in Paris namely:
  • Musee d'Orsay  http://www.musee-orsay.fr/ and
  • Musee de l''Orangerie http://www.musee-orangerie.fr/

Now I would like to take you on a  trip to the museum of Orsay. Enjoy this short video and see you soon!
